AOMA Meditation Arts: Welcome Hub for US Visitors | Dr.Jechang Kim (Dharmanyang) | Updated 260113 UTC 14:33

The Cleveland Museum of Art

Hello,

I am Dr. Jechang Kim, the founder and curator of the AOMA Meditation Arts Archive. You are very welcome to call me Dharmanyang.

I created this welcome hub for a simple reason. Among the many people who visit this archive, a significant number are joining us from the United States. Considering the geographical and cultural distance between Korea and the U.S., it still feels both surprising and deeply meaningful that so many of you are finding your way to these records and reflections.

The AOMA Meditation Arts Archive is not a conventional meditation website. It is a living archive dedicated to practicing the observation of suffering, recognizing its substanceless nature, and moving—gently—toward liberation from suffering. Through essays, artistic reflections, and meditative records, this archive explores how human beings across cultures encounter pain, rupture, silence, and resilience.

One of the ongoing projects you may encounter here is the 265NationsMeditationTour. Each day, we quietly visit five countries, observing their current struggles, fractures, and lived realities—not to explain them away, but to see them clearly, with care and restraint.

This welcome page is not a finished introduction. It is an open and evolving space. As more visitors from the United States arrive here, this page will continue to be updated—with new tour entries, recommended readings, and curated links that may help you navigate the archive more comfortably.

If you wish, you are invited to leave a comment or message. Whether it is a reflection, a question about meditation, or simply a brief impression from your visit, those voices will be gently considered as this archive continues to grow.

My hope is that this space feels quiet rather than demanding, open rather than instructional, and welcoming enough to pause for a moment.

Thank you sincerely for being here.
